Unique Terroir: The Rare Tea Company travels the world in search of unique tea gardens and the skilled men and woman who craft the finest tea – where each harvest captures the most delicious flavours that their particular corner of the world can offer.
Direct Trade: The Rare Tea Company has been working directly with their farmers since 2004, building long-term relationships. RTC don’t buy from brokers, middle-men or commodity markets. RTC keeps the value of their tea with the people who make it.
Sustainability: The Rare Tea Company supports the 3 pillars of sustainability: environmental, economic and social. Their teas are grown without pesticides and herbicides. No bags with bleaches, glues and micro-plastics that waste precious resources for single use.
The Rare Charity: When Henrietta Lovell, the founder of Rare Tea Company, visited Satemwa, she saw the possibility of creating social change. She decided to re-invest a percentage of Rare Tea’s annual revenue directly back into the community. Henrietta asked the workers on the Estate where they would most like to see change, and they gave her a clear and unanimous answer: education for our children. Rare Charity was founded to respond to this need.
